POWAY WEEK

Valley Center game update.

We had a rough night at Valley Center with some injuries. It appears that Tevin Malone #3 from the freshman team will be just fine after a scare and long ambulance ride to Childrens hospital. His mother and the football staff wants to thank everyone for their concern. He will be back shortly. Quarterback / safety Steven Xirinachs is not as fortunate with a knee injury that will probably need surgery. Keep him and his family in your thoughts. Running Back David Belcher has a groin injury also.

The freshman had a great comeback led by quarterback Alex Dion and some excellent receivers making key catches to be in position to go for the win in the final minute. We came up short on the conversion pass to lose 21-20. It was a great effort. The defense was outstanding and by the way the ball did bounce on the botched field goal attempt and the pass for an apparent touchdown by Valley Center.

The junior varsity had periods of the game where they played very well and will continue to battle and get better. Their effort and dedication will pay off for them.


PRACTICE SCHEDULE:

Monday: 4:00 - 6:30 early outs at 3:45
Tuesday: 3:45 -4:30 Study Hall - Bring Books
practice 5:00 - 7:30
Wednesday: 4:00 - 6:00 - Snack bar and football clothing sale during practice. Get your sweatshirts for your whole family.
Thursday: Game Doubleheader Freshman at 4:30 and JV at 7:00.


WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS THIS WEEK:
Snackbar
BBQ King or Queen - 2 per game
freshman game: 8 helpers
JV game: 10 helpers
Merchandise sales
freshman game: 3 helpers
JV game: 3 helpers
Camera man:
Frosh game and jv game - could be same person

Donated Items needed: Crock Pots, Ice Chests

Snack Bar and Football Merchandise sellers needed for both games Thursday, 3 for each game.

We will be Using our new BBQ and cooking hot dogs and burgers. We need a BBQ King or Queen to help us out.

During the Freshman game we will need 8 helpers (from 3:45 to end of game) and during the JV game (from end of frosh game to the close) we will need 10 helpers.

CAMERA MAN NEEDED TO OPERATE THE CAMERA IN THE END ZONE FOR BOTH FRESHMAN AND JV GAME.

Do you have a large crockpot you would like to donate? We also need a few large Ice Chests for Ice storage in the snack bar. Please bring to School for the snack bar.
